When I arrived at the appointed time I was asked if someone had 'phoned to remind me of the appointment. "Why would they do that?" I asked, " I 'phoned you only yesterday to make the ruddy appointment!" "Ah well, sometimes people forget" came the answer. At least I can remember which is the left from the right which is more than the optician could.
