Viking Airline

A place to ask. Somebody may know, or know someone who does.....

Viking Airline

We know they have a tie up with Kiss Flights, who in turn are involved with the bloke who headed up XL, but that is about all. They are by far the cheapest flight only to Kos from this part of the world, and it is tempting to book with them, but..............If something looks too good to be true.... etc etc. Does anyone have any hard information on their ability to stay in business?

A look around http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk and http://www.airlinequality.com make for interesting reading. (Perhaps contributors here should becoem active on the former site?). The reviewers' scores seem to be polarised between 0 out of 10 and 8 out of 10. As to the financial position - there's one posting that suggest the ATOL cover is for only 25,000 seats. I would take note of Section 3, specifically section 3.2 of the booking conditions shown at:-

http://www.kissflights.com//Attachments/Kiss_Booking_Conditions.pdf

and get that assurance in writing?

Hi, I'm not sure if this is still of interest but we flew with Kiss last October and the o/g flight was with Viking (home with J2). The flight itself was fine, much better than we expected. The plane looked old and dated but the staff were friendly and efficient and there were plenty of snacks and drinks available throughout the flight. Legroom wasn't bad too. We took off on time but the plane was miles from the terminal building so quite a long bumpy bus ride, not a big problem but interesting as it shows their 'standing' at Gatwick. Perhaps we were lucky but I actually would rather fly with them again than J2. I don't know anything about how healthy their business is though.
